The Chinese premium automotive brand, Hongqi, is gearing up to make its debut in Singapore. For some, the name may already ring a bell as the automaker captured the attention of Malaysians when His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, was gifted the luxurious L5 model last year. The brand further cemented its presence during the ASEAN Chairman’s Summit, where the N701 was specially flown in to serve as the official state vehicle for Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to Malaysia.
Often dubbed the “Rolls-Royce of China,” Hongqi is renowned for its opulent limousines, frequently used by Chinese President Xi Jinping and other top dignitaries. As the country’s oldest and most prestigious automotive marque, Hongqi was established in 1958 by China’s state-owned FAW Group, and remains the most expensive car brand in the nation.
Now coming back to Singapore, it is reported that Eurokars has been appointed as the official dealership in the Lion City. Eurokars is also the distributor for Rolls-Royce, BMW, McLaren, Pagani and other mid-range to luxury car marques in the country.
One of the models that will be introduced in Singapore is the E-HS9, a fully electric mid-size SUV. There is no information on the specifications of the car that will be available in the Singaporean market. However, according to the company’s official website, the SUV comes in four variants: Executive, Deluxe, Flagship and Long Range.

All the variants come with a dual motor and all-wheel drive (AWD) configuration. The Executive produces a total of 320kW of power and 600Nm of torque. As for the other variants, they produce 405kW of power and 750Nm.
As for the battery, the Executive has an 84kWh battery offering a WLTP range of up to 380km. The Deluxe and Flagship variants come with a 99kWh battery offering a WLTP range of up to 441km. As for the Long Range, it has a 120kWh battery offering the highest WLTP range of up to 515km.

The Hongqi E-HS9 is expected to make its debut in Singapore within the first half of 2026. CNA reports that two other models are slated to accompany it – a mid-sized SUV called the G117, and a fully-electric compact SUV known as the E007. Though these two are noted by the report as still being under development.
