Several roads in central Kuala Lumpur are expected to face diversions tomorrow on 26 July 2025 in response to the “Turun Anwar” rally, which is set to take place across multiple locations in the capital. Acting KL police chief Deputy Commissioner Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad said the diversions will be enforced from time to time based on the developing situation, with the aim of maintaining safety and ensuring smooth traffic flow.
Participants of the rally are expected to gather at Masjid Negara, Pasar Seni, Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad, Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru and the Sogo shopping mall, before making their way to Dataran Merdeka. Authorities have advised the public to plan ahead, avoid affected routes, and consider using public transport.

The following roads are expected to be affected:
- Jalan Maharajalela / slip road to Jalan Syed Putra
- Jalan Kinabalu / U-Turn Public Bank
- Bulatan Sultan Mohamad
- Jalan Kinabalu / slip road to Bukit Aman Tunnel
- Jalan Kinabalu / slip road to Bulatan Dato’ Onn
- Above Bulatan Dato’ Onn (left and right lanes)
- Bulatan Dato’ Onn from Jalan Parlimen
- Jalan Sultan Salahuddin / Bulatan Dato’ Onn
- Jalan Kuching / slip road to Jalan Sultan Ismail
- Jalan Kinabalu (Bulatan Segambut to Bulatan Dato’ Onn)
- Jalan Kinabalu (Masjid Negara to Bulatan Dato’ Onn)
- Jalan Lebuh Pasar Besar / Jalan Hang Kasturi
- Jalan Hishamudin / Jalan Raja
- Jalan Parlimen / Jalan Raja Laut
- Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman / Jalan Tun Perak
- Jalan Lebuh Ampang / Jalan Tun Perak
Meanwhile, Transport Minister Anthony Loke confirmed that all public transportation services, including those operated by KTMB and Prasarana, will run as usual on the day of the rally. In a Facebook post, he reaffirmed the government’s stance on protecting the right to peaceful assembly, while also stressing that public transport must continue to serve the needs of the wider public.
“I encourage all rally participants to use public transport to help minimise traffic congestion in the capital,” he added. Loke’s statement comes amid confusion over a circulating notice claiming the KTM Bank Negara and Kuala Lumpur stations would be closed, which KTMB itself has denied.
