AirAsia and Level Up KL have announced the 2025 edition of the RedGames Jam, the annual competition that sees game devs – be they amateur or aspiring, or even seasoned vets – create a game in 48 hours. As it had in previous years, it’s happening at the Asia Pacific University, Bukit Jalil, but this year it’s happening between 11 and 13 July.
With Level Up KL being one of the main drivers for their event, winners of the RedGames Jam 2025, even consolation prize winners, will have an opportunity to have their game featured during the Level Up KL event in October. Winners of the top three spots will have their games honoured at the event’s SEA Game Awards in addition, with tickets to said event, naturally.
The grand prize though is where things get really exciting for anyone with even a passing interest in the video games industry, never mind devs. With SEGA being one of the main partners of the RedGames Jam, those taking the very top spot will also get tickets to attend the Tokyo Games Show in late September, as part of a “curated 5D4N Dream It experience in Tokyo, Japan, including accommodation”. Flights are AirAsia Economy class return flights, unsurprisingly.

Participants of the RedGames Jam 2025 can enter either as individuals, or as teams of up to five members. While up to 100 local teams have signed up for the jam, it will also feature entrants who have gotten a direct invitation from the event organisers.
