Formula 1 is one of the biggest names in motorsports, and Mickey Mouse is the most iconic character in Disney’s lineup. But what if these two giants teamed up? Well, you don’t have to imagine anymore — F1 and Disney have officially struck a partnership! Starting next year, fans will see Mickey Mouse and his friends making their presence felt in the world of Formula 1.
This announcement was shared on both these companies’ social media platforms. In the video that was shared, it can be seen Mickey walking to a Formula 1 race car designed in Disney’s theme and also had the signatures of Mickey, Goofy, Minne, Donald and Pluto.
So, does this mean we’ll see Mickey and his friends racing wheel-to-wheel with real-life drivers in the F1 circuit? Not quite. This partnership isn’t about putting cartoon characters behind the wheel, but rather a global marketing collaboration following a surge in viewership of children aged between eight and 12 in recent years.
This makes the collaboration a perfect fit, appealing to both Disney’s audience and F1. “It fits perfectly with our strategy to step outside the world of sport, and into a broader consumer market, and in return we’re introducing Disney to our 820 million fans worldwide,” said Emily Prazer, CCO of Formula 1.

According to a joint statement from both companies, the deal will bring Disney’s beloved characters to life through Formula 1 experiences, content, and merchandise around the world. “As we celebrate nearly a century of Mickey Mouse & Friends, our collaboration with Formula 1 offers a unique opportunity to bring two powerhouse entertainment properties together to create products that fans will love,” said the, Disney Consumer Products President, Tasia Filippatos.
There are no further details on the specifics of the deal. However, it safe to assume that starting next year, Mickey will be seen on the Formula 1 cars rather than in.
