There have been plenty of rumours surrounding the foldable iPhone, which is only slated for release next year at its earliest. But when it does happen, Apple may be betting big on it being popular, as a report claims that the company may decide to make it a yearly release. It may also take the place of the Pro Max in the annual iPhone line up.
This comes courtesy of South Korean news site ETNews, which also notes that demand for iPhones tend to be concentrated on the Pro models, per machine translation. Apple may be looking to shake things up with its line up by replacing the the Plus model with the upcoming iPhone 17 Air this year, and then following up by replacing the Pro Max with the foldable.

In the same vein though, just as the Pro Max iPhones are currently the priciest in the annual Apple smartphone release, the foldable iPhone will be the one with the distinction when it does get released. Current rumours point to it costing over US$2,000 (~RM8,556).
Claims have already been made about the foldable iPhone having a crease that’s “nearly invisible” when unfolded. Apple is also said to be working on giving it a better hinge than existing examples in the Android space. But either way, it would be at least a year before we find out if these claims are accurate, and lots can change between now and then.
