Samsung has begun rolling out its latest Android-based interface, the One UI 7, to older flagship devices. The good news is that the update is now live in Malaysia, as confirmed by multiple Galaxy S23 users. We’ve also received the update on our own units, including the Galaxy Z Fold5 (shown above).

It appears that the rollout extends to Samsung flagships from as far back as 2021. According to user @TheGalox_ on X, others have reported receiving One UI 7 on the Galaxy S22 and S21 series, the Z Fold4 and Z Flip4, the Z Fold3 and Z Flip3, as well as the Tab S8 through Tab S10 series. However, we’re unable to verify this ourselves, as we currently do not have these particular models on hand.

The update’s arrival for 2023 and older Samsung flagships comes as a surprise, as the rollout was initially expected to begin next month. Earlier reports suggested a delay due to a major bug found in the first release in South Korea. Hopefully, Samsung has addressed those issues for this broader launch.

In case you missed it, One UI 7 was also released for the brand’s 2024 flagship devices just last week. To update your supported Samsung device, open the Settings app, scroll down to “Software Update”, tap it, then select “Download and Install”. Note that file sizes will vary depending on your device model.
