It appears that a new CelcomDigi app is currently in the works. According to Amanz, the app is in an internal testing phase that likely involves the company’s employees.
The app is already available on Google Play and Apple App Store, but it is listed as a limited release, and only users with an invitation are able to gain access to its features. It seems that the new app will integrate all of the telco’s offerings, including both prepaid and postpaid plans.
CelcomDigi has yet to comment on this development, so it is unclear when the app will be available to the public. The app’s page includes a note advising current customers to continue using the existing Celcom and Digi apps to manage their accounts, so it will probably be a while before the new app is ready.
It is likely that this will be the unified CeldomDigi app, as customers for Celcom and Digi are still using separate apps despite the merger of the two brands in 2022. The telco has taken steps to unify its services in the years following the merger, including making services available to both Celcom and Digi customers irrespective of store, and introducing unified plans. A single, unified app seems to be the natural next step to further streamline its services.
