Zeekr has officially unveiled the 9X, its flagship hybrid SUV, just in time for the ongoing Shanghai Auto show. From the pictures that were released, one can see that the full-size SUV marks a fresh chapter in Zeekr’s design language.
Up front, the Zeekr 9X flexes a large, upright grille with vertical chrome slats — a clear evolution of the design first seen on the brand’s 009 MPV. It’s elegant without going overboard, giving off a commanding presence that feels restrained yet regal.
The side profile keeps things crisp with clean, straight lines that emphasise the SUV’s full-size proportions. Around the back, things get a little more dramatic with the rear light setup, dubbed the “Ring Screen Star Diamond”.
It is a through-type taillight array made up of a staggering 43,343 diamond-cut facets. Adding to that is the “Side Wing Star Diamond Matrix” clusters, designed to echo the front grille’s visual statement.
The SUV will debut the company’s brand-new Super Electric Hybrid system. Unlike traditional powertrains, this one blends the best of BEV (battery-electric), PHEV (plug-in hybrid), and EREV (range-extender) technologies. With this powertrain, it is said that the Zeekr 9X will be dfoing the century sprint in three seconds.
The Zeekr 9X is firmly targeting the high-end luxury SUV market. While final pricing is still under wraps, early estimates suggest a starting point around 500,000 yuan (~RM320,000). For those seeking the ultra-luxurious experience, a top-tier “Grand Edition” could climb close to 1 million yuan(~RM640,000).
