The first trailer for The Witcher 4 was shown off to the world back in December of last year, and already there are claims around the internet that there will be beta tests for the game. Unfortunately for anyone hopeful that it’s real, it’s not, as confirmed by the developers of the game.
CD Projekt has gone onto its official account on X to make the PSA, saying that claims of The Witcher 4 beta tests are a scam. The company has “been taking the necessary steps to take this fraudulent messaging down”, but if you’ve come across any more of them, you should “report the scam using the tools available to you”.

Said post also comes with a line that reads a bit like a jab for whoever fell for the scam. The line reads “Remember: professional monster slayers don’t fall for scams; they see right through them and slay them!”. Or maybe it’s meant to be inspiring to fans of The Witcher and I’m just a cynic reading between lines that aren’t there.
Either way, the post closes with saying that if there are any real beta tests being organised in the future, announcements for these will come via the official website and social medial. Which should go without saying, but then there was the whole situation with Valve’s Deadlock before it was officially listed on Steam.
