[UPDATE: 20 March 2025 – 12:45pm] Maybank has updated its notice, which no longer includes the date of implementation for the redesign. In response to our queries, the bank says the change is still coming “soon” but has not provided an exact date. Maybank adds that the upgrade will be implemented gradually, so not all users will notice the redesign immediately.
[ Original Story: 19 March 2025 – 6:06pm]
Maybank has announced that its online payment page will be undergoing a redesign effective on 31 March 2025. This is due to Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet) transitioning from the current FPX payment service to the newer DuitNow Online Banking/Wallets (DOBW).
Users will be able to notice the redesigned interface when they shop online or check out with Maybank2u via FPX. While the payment page will appear different, the rest of the transaction process will remain the same. The bank says that the transition will enable secure transactions by redirecting users to their online banking platforms or eWallet applications, including Maybank2u.

It should be noted that the legitimate Maybank2u page will display a user’s security image and phrase before requesting their password. Additionally, in an effort to avoid being victims of scam, users should take caution and familiarise themselves with the signs of a fake banking website.
You can find out more about this change by heading over to the official announcement by Maybank, linked below. Also linked below is the FAQ page in regards to the announcement, though most of these will be familiar if you’ve visited the FAQ page for FPX.
