CelcomDigi has introduced new “unlimited” 5G roaming passes that are available for both postpaid and prepaid customers. These roaming passes lets users get 5G coverage in up to 57 countries while travelling, although the amount of countries it covers depends on which package you get.

The first one is a 30-day roaming pass that costs RM98, which gives users data in 57 countries spanning from Asia to the Middle East and Europe. This option is more suited to those who plan on going on longer trips with multiple destinations. For travellers on short vacations, there is the seven-day pass that cost RM58 and provides coverage in 20 selected Asian countries.

Both these passes are advertised as “unlimited” but in reality, there is a daily Fair Usage Policy (FUP) cap of just 2GB of high-speed internet. Once that quota is used up, users will be throttled to speeds up to 1Mbps, which the telco says is still good enough for standard definition streaming. The quota will be refreshed at 11:59 PM daily throughout the pass’ validity period.

If you need something even shorter, there is the three-day roaming pass that costs RM25 for 2GB of 4G data in 23 Asian countries as well as 30 minutes of phone calls. Additionally, Celcom also offers a one-day pass that gives you 1GB of data in 130 countries for RM38.
