Astro Fibre Goes Official: Monthly Price Starts At RM 129.99 For 50Mbps Bundle

Astro today has taken the drape off its latest offering which comes in the form of Astro Fibre. While the new offering may look no different from the broadband combo plans that the company has offered for years, today’s announcement marked another major milestone for Astro in regard to its path of becoming an Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Even though Astro has been offering broadband combo plans for years, the company has only revealed its intention to become an Internet Service Provider (ISP) last September when it signed a major deal with TM. In fact, Astro’s FAQ section has noted that Astro Fibre is a first-party service while Astro & Broadband packages are being delivered through partnerships with Maxis and TNB’s Allo.

Astro Fibre plans are quite straightforward in nature and still similar to the older Astro & Broadband in nature. In general, you choose your desired Internet speed together with your preferred Astro Packs and that becomes your Astro Fibre package.

The 50Mbps plan comes with 20Mbps upload speed while the 100Mbps, 500Mbps and 800Mbps plans provides upload speeds of 50Mbps, 100Mbps, and 200Mbps, respectively. Below is the full list of Astro Fibre packages that are available to consumers:

Do note that all of the pricing above are actually promotional prices which is applicable to customers that signed up from today until 30 June 2022. In addition to that, the standard 24-month contract applies to all Astro Fibre plans.

As part of the launch promo, Astro is also offering a free 12-month Mesh Wi-Fi subscription for those who opt for any of the 50Mbps Astro Fibre plans. For those who picked up the higher speed plans, they will be provided with a 24-month subscription instead.

Given that the Mesh Wi-Fi subscription is an add-on service, customers have to pay a monthly fee of between RM10 to RM25 per unit depending on respective Astro Fibre plans, once the free promo period has concluded.
