Huawei has announced the Huawei X Gentle Monster Eyewear II, the second generation smart eyewear. This comes a year since the last one, when the company announced its collaboration with Korean fashion brand Gentle Monster.
Before you get too excited, no this is not going in the direction of AR or anything like that. Like the previous iteration, the Eyewear II is a pair of headphones in the form of eyewear. That being said, there’s still a number of improvements over the previous iteration.
The speakers built into the Huawei X Gentle Monster Eyewear II have been improved overall. Their new design gives them a wider range, and the leakage hole design, as the company calls it, reduces sound leakage by 12dB.
It also features touch controls like you’d expect from many TWS buds today. You can swipe to the front and back on both the left and right temples for volume and track skip controls. You can also tap on the left temple to activate the voice assistant. Doing so on the right one plays or pauses your music, or takes and drops calls.
The Huawei X Gentle Monster Eyewear II will come with a price of RM1799. It will be available on 30 October, and oddly enough, beginning 10.08AM. You can find them on the company’s online store linked below, or on shelves.
