unifi Air Now Comes With ZTE 4G Router Instead of Huawei

Since the day that unifi Air was made official in August 2019, TM has been using the Huawei B618-65 LTE CPE as part of the service’s SIM + Device plan. However, it turns out the company has recently switched to a different CPE.

If you click on Buy Now to obtain unifi Air’s SIM + Device plan on its website, the shopping cart now lists the ZTE MF286C LTE CPE instead of the usual Huawei B618S-65D:

Compare that to the screenshot that we captured last month:

As you can notice from the above screencaps, the website still shows the image of Huawei CPE though. Additionally, the FAQ document on the website [pdf] has not yet been updated and still listed the Huawei CPE as the device for unifi Air.

So, in other words, the ZTE CPE only appears in the shopping cart which seemed rather odd. We have since reached out to TM to find out the reason behind the switch and if it going to be permanent or temporary.

(Thanks @aniq8676 for the tips!)
