Earlier this month, TM has revealed its plan to offer free unifi Air wireless broadband to customers that are waiting for the Internet to be installed in their home. The intention behind this offer is to reduce the waiting time for them to get connected, since Internet Service Provider (ISP) or telco staff were not allowed to perform installations insides customers’ premise during Movement Control Order (MCO) period.

However, things have changed since then with on-premises installations have now been allowed once again although limited to areas that have been designated as Green Zone and TM will be focusing on backlog installations first before moving on to new applications.

That being said, the free unifi Air offer is still valid and according to TM’s reply to our query, the offer is now applicable to customers that are located in Yellow Zones. The company further clarified that it will first check the customers’ location to see if they are within unifi Air’s coverage area.

TM’s installation team would then deliver the free unifi Air to the customer if he or she choose to accept the offer. TM would then follow up to help the installation through phone call since the installation team is not allowed to personally deploy unifi Air wireless broadband device inside customers’ home.

The device would then be collected by TM’s installation team when it performs the actual fixed broadband installation at customers’ home after their location have been reclassified as a Green Zone. TM stated that they have begun the deployment of the unifi Air to eligible customers but as mentioned earlier, the company is focusing on customers that are already in the waiting list prior to MCO.
