YTL Foundation To Give Free Mobile Phones To B40 Families Affected By COVID-19 Pandemic

The YTL Foundation has announced that it will be giving out free smartphones to impoverished families affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Its actions are part of its Learn from Home Initiative and will include free YES 4G SIM cards and free data.

The free phones being offered will be given to families within the B40 community. Just as it did for students in government schools, The YTL Foundation will also include free prepaid YES 4G SIM cards. That also come with 12-month data plan and a total of 120GB of data.

To make sure that these phones go to actual families that need it, the YTL Foundation will be working closely with government school teachers, to which the latter will be asked to nominate families that deserve these free phones and data. It says that this is because teachers are front liners for helping students, as well as natural partners for parents when it comes to bringing education to the home.

Teachers who wish to nominate students deserving of the free phone can submit their nominations through the YTL Foundation’s official page of the Learn from Home Initiative. Upon submission, successful candidates will be notified by the company, followed by a submission of registration for the free mobile phone and YES 4G data plan.
