Grab is now offering RM800 to Malaysians as an incentive to sign up as the e-hailing service’s drive-partner from January to 31 March 2020. The incentive consists of a RM500 sign-up bonus and RM300 of subsidies to assist new drivers with regulatory costs including medical, training, exams, vehicle inspection, and licensing.

Additionally, Grab has also launched the GrabBenefits rewards system, a flagship programme to help its drive-partner community to save and spend better. The programme includes four categories: Fuel Rebates, Vehicle Maintenance and Accessories, Healthcare, and Lifestyle and Travel.

With GrabBenefits, drive-partners are offered savings across brands such as Petronas, Liqui Moly, Shell Advance, Qualitas Medical, Lourdes Medical, Digi, Mitsui, Chubb Insurance, Zakat (KL and Selangor), Kaodim, GrabFood, GrabRewards and GrabPay. The programme is now accessible by users via the Grab Driver app.

Grab drivers will also receive a tiered rewards system via GrabBenefits which shares similarities to the GrabRewards system for regular users. The system consists of Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Member tiers, which are based on the amount of rides completed, cancellation rates and driver ratings. Platinum-tiered drivers will have special access to GrabRewards on their user-based Grab app, as well as GrabInsure’s Personal Accident coverage privileges.

With these new additions for its drive-partner community, Grab hopes to help Malaysians by providing a healthy household income, as well as becoming a safety net to help them during times of need.
