Webe To Be Rebranded As Unifi On 15 September

Webe customers, take note: don’t be surprised if the telco’s name no longer appeared on your smartphone starting from 15 September onwards. Instead, they will say Unifi instead – based on the announcement made by Webe earlier today.

However, the telco insists that it is not being shut down by its parent company TM though. Business is as usual since its current plans as well as services will remain the same and continue to be available to consumers.

Webe
This sign no longer going to be around tomorrow…

That being said, Webe customers that travelling outside of Malaysia might have to update the APN settings inside their phone for roaming. The telco has details the step to change such settings in the FAQ document within today’s announcement.

While this might sounds rather suprising but in general, this move is rather inline with TM’s convergence philosophy. Not only that, TM already combined Webe and Unifi in a specialized package recently in the form of Unifi Mobility Package recently.
