So, the rumors were on point: the new Apple iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X are equipped with wireless charging capability. Naturally, Apple has come out with a new product to support the new feature in the form of AirPower.
The new Apple AirPower is generally a first-party wireless charger with large enough area to charge three devices at once. Aside from the new trio of iPhones, it also can be used with the equally new Apple Watch Series 3 and the optional wireless charging case that Apple has crafted for its AirPods wireless earbuds.
Just like with iPhone 8 and iPhone X, Apple has worked together with Wireless Power Consortium so that its AirPower wireless charger meets the Qi wireless charging standard. Additionally, the power status for all devices placed on AirPower can be seen on iPhone’s screen while charging takes place.
However, the new Apple AirPower will only be available in 2018. Nevertheless, that also means there are still plenty of times to save up the cash to get your hands on the charger.
