Right after ESL One Genting, comes another major tournament, the Dota 2 Asia Championships, or better known as DAC. Dubbed The International of the East, the tournament will be happening from the 1st to 4th of January 2017.
Presented by Chinese organisers, Perfect World, the DAC will be held in Shanghai, China. Currently, four teams have received a direct invite to the tournament. These teams include TI5 champions Evil Geniuses, TI6 champions Wings Gaming, three-time Major champions OG, and TI4 champions, Newbee.
As for the qualifiers, DAC has prepared a total of eight slots. There will be four qualifier slots for the Asian region, one for the Americas region, one for South East Asian region, one for European region, and another for the Commonwealth of Independent States region.
The China qualifiers for DAC will begin from the 13th to 15th of January 2017, while the group stages will commence from the 28th to 30th of March 2017. The rest of the qualifier sessions will be announced at a later date. Other than that, Perfect World have also not announced the prize pool for DAC.
