The MSI Vortex is a gaming beast, that is for sure, and MSI Malaysia has revealed the retail prices of this machine. Retailing from RM11,999, the Vortex is definitely not an affordable desktop, but it does pack some impressive hardware in a compact form factor.
Of course, the RM11,999 MSI Vortex isn’t the highest-end model. In Malaysia, the Vortex is available in two variants: there’s the RM11,999 model with two Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 graphics card running in SLI, and the very costly RM18,999 variant with two GTX 980 GPUs, which are also running in SLI.
Aside from the different graphics cards, both variants of the MSI Vortex share similar specifications. It has an Intel Core i7-6700K Skylake processor paired with 16GB of DDR4 RAM, a 256GB M.2 PCIe SSD paired with a 1TB 7200RPM SATA HDD, a 450W PSU, as well as a two-year warranty. As for connectivity, the Vortex has two Thunderbolt 3 ports, two HDMI ports, as well as two miniDP ports. Considering that these hardware are packed into a 6.5 litre enclosure, MSI pulled off a very impressive feat.
The MSI Vortex will be available for pre-order from the 8th to the 10th of April at the Malaysia IT Fair in Mid Valley Exhibition Centre. With a starting price of RM11,999, this is a very costly gaming machine, but it’s definitely a powerful one.
