Confirmed: 2017 Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7 Smartphones Are Dust and Water Resistant

After a massive leak yesterday, Samsung Malaysia has stepped forward to confirm several matters regarding the upcoming Galaxy A Series 2017 smartphones. First and foremost, the company has now officially revealed the pricing for the new devices.

Just like how the leaked poster has mentioned, the 2017 Galaxy A5 is priced at RM 1,699 while the Galaxy A7 goes for RM 1,899. Same goes for the pre-order program, customers are able to pre-order these devices starting from 6 to 15 January 2017 at participating outlets which will be the announced at Samsung Mobile Malaysia’s Facebook page very soon.

Pre-order customers will also receive Samsung Level U Pro wireless headset while stocks last.

Aside from that, the company has also confirmed that the 2017 version of Galaxy A5 and A7 are indeed dust as well as water resistant. Specifically, they designed to conform to the IP68 standard which means that they can be submerged under water up to a depth of 1.5 meter for up to 30 minutes.

This is what the Samsung Malaysia’s Vice President of Mobile and IT Business Unit, Lee Jui Siang has to say regarding the new devices: 

Samsung is focused on continuing to push the frontier of what’s possible to deliver innovation that matter. As a leader in the mobile industry, we designed the Samsung Galaxy A Series (2017) that suits the needs of trendy savvy consumers.

The latest smartphones combine a premium design with a range of flagship benefits which includes IP68-rated dust and water resistant which is the first ever of its range
