If the display on your iPhone 6 Plus is suffering from a flickering or multi-touch issue, Apple is willing to fix it for you, for a price of course. Apple just launched a “Multi-touch repair program for the iPhone 6 Plus” that will repair the problem for RM629.
Apple says that the iPhone 6 Plus may suffer from this problem after being dropped multiple times on a hard surface, incurring further stress on the display. You can send your device in to an Apple Authorised Service Provider and have it repaired for a suggested service price of RM629. Do note that your device must be in working order, and you screen must not be cracked or broken.
For those of you who have already repaired your iPhone 6 Plus for this issue through Apple or other Authorised Service Provider, you can arrange an reimbursement from Apple; the Cupertino company will reimburse you the difference between the price you paid for the original service to your iPhone 6 Plus and the manufacturer’s suggested service price.
iPhone 6 Plus display flickering issue (credit: iFixit)
Back in August, several users complained that the display on their iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus was facing some problems. According to iFixit, the problem does not lie on the display, but rather on the chips used to control it. The issue is widespread enough that iFixit believes that almost every iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are affected by it, and are like “ticking time bomb just waiting to act up”.
Of course, Apple did not confirm iFixit’s report and says that the problem is caused by the iPhone 6 Plus being dropped multiple times on hard surfaces. This repair program from Apple covers affected iPhone 6 Plus devices only (sorry iPhone 6 users), and is available for 5 years after the first sale of the unit.
