Xiaomi Redmi 3S Finally Launching in Malaysia Tomorrow on 15 September 2016

Xiaomi Malaysia has just posted a particularly interesting teaser on its Facebook page, mentioning that a new product will be introduced tomorrow. While the company is ambiguous on what the actual product is, it’s very likely to be the Redmi 3S.

A few months back, we spotted both the Xiaomi Mi Max and Redmi 3S at Yes’ launch event for its range of data plans. While the former has already been launched two weeks ago, the Redmi 3S has been under the radar for the most part – until now, that is.

Based on the four images posted by Xiaomi Malaysia above, we’re pretty confident we’re looking at the Redmi 3S. After all, the device does have a metal body, a fingerprint sensor, as well as a sizeable 4,100mAh battery. Of course, the overall design of the smartphone shown in the pictures are similar to that of the Redmi 3S as well.

Other specifications of the Redmi 3S include a 5-inch 1280 x 720 display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor paired with up to 3GB of RAM, two choices of internal storage (16GB and 32GB), a microSD card slot, as well as 13MP rear and 5MP front-facing cameras. While these specifications are not high-end in any way, they’re definitely respectable for a budget-oriented smartphone.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3S will be officially unveiled in Malaysia tomorrow on the 15th of September at 12PM. Chances are, the local retail price of the Redmi 3S will be revealed then.
