Fitbit yesterday has unveiled two new additions to its family of fitness wearables in the form of Charge 2 and Flex 2. Still mainly designed for general fitness, these new wearables are equipped with several new design traits that made them physically different from their predecessors.

For example, Charge 2 now features an interchangeable band as well as a larger OLED tap-sensitive display which allows it to show more statistics to users.  Not only that, Fitbit has also provided seven customizable clock faces for Charge 2.

Most of the Charge 2 tracking capabilities remained the same as per its predecessor though such as steps, distance, calories burned, floors climbed, active minutes, stationary time, and sleep. Additionally, Charge 2 still comes with wrist-based heart monitor that is powered by the company’s PurePulse technology although the new wearable does come with two additional exclusive features: guided breathing sessions and cardio fitness level.

As for its battery life, Charge 2 is able to last up to 5 days just like Charge HR. Similarly, Charge 2 still requires only one to two hours to be fully charged.

Moving on to Flex 2; this particular model is pretty much a total redesigned of the original Flex. This is because Flex 2’s core tracker can now be removed and be used not only with its wristband but also optional bangle and pendant that Fitbit has designed for it.

Even though its all-day activity tracking is pretty much identical to its predecessor, Flex 2 is still 30% smaller than the original Flex and also comes with color-coded LED. It is also the first swim-proof wearable from Fitbit as it is water resistant up to the depth of 50m.

The Charge 2 will be released in Malaysia in late September at a retail price of RM730, while the Flex 2 will be available in October for RM450. Official retailers include Aone Plus, All IT Hypermarket, Courts Malaysia, Harvey Norman, Senheng, and more.

The Charge 2 will also have some accessories available, including coloured accessory bands for RM130, leather bands for RM360, and even a special edition series in gunmetal and rose gold colourways for RM820 each.

The Flex 2 will have its own range of accessories as well including a 3-pack accessory band for RM130. The optional bangle and pendant will also be available in Malaysia, with retail prices starting from RM420 for the bangle and RM390 for the pendant.
