At a glance, there is nothing out of ordinary in the photo above which was posted on the official Instagram account for Microsoft Surface. However, many fans and owners of Surface devices are able to immediately notice that what shown in the photo doesn’t come from the existing Surface Book or Surface Pro 4.

Hence, many believed that what Microsoft has shared through Surface’s Instagram account could be the new hinge from the upcoming Surface Book 2. After all, we have heard rumors that the flaps on the hinge of the original Surface Book – which lead to the existence of the gap within the area – will not be present on the laptop’s successor.
Given the fact that the image has yet to be removed by Microsoft at the time this article is published, this suggest that it is not a leak and it might even be possible that the company will be launching the new device soon. That being said though, Microsoft has yet to announce any upcoming launch event which further surround the image with mystery.
