Made its debut in 2013, local prepaid Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) Buzzme has recently celebrated its 3rd anniversary by unveiling its new brand image. Involving a full revamp from new logo and tagline as well as redesigned website and physical starter packs, the new identity has been designed to be more in line with youths which are the telco’s current target market.

Riding on U Mobile’s network, there are not much changes being done to most of the elements within Buzzme prepaid service though. As an example, Buzzme Starter Packs (previously known as Basic Plans) which valid for 30 days after activation still cost RM 10 and RM 30 with preloaded amount of RM 8 and RM 30 respectively.

Also available is the Smart Validity plan which provides 1 year validity for RM 38.

The telco also still maintains its call and SMS chargers at 18 sen per minute and 10 sen per SMS to all networks alongside 5 sen per MB for data that is consumed under Pay Per Use policy. Additionally, Buzzme Famili and Frens (BFF) feature that offers 6 sen per 30 sec call and 5 sen per SMS that are made to 10 favorite Buzzme numbers is still around alongside the telco’s point-based 20% credit back and free Personal Accident insurance coverage.

Nevertheless, the telco did reduce the price for its Smarter Plans (now called Smarter Bundle) to RM 25 and RM 50 which previously costs RM 33 and RM 88 respectively. Buzzme has also added two more data offering in the Smart Surf data add-on in the form of 5GB for RM 95 and 8 GB for RM 135. Furthermore, its reward system now included Birthday Bonus as well as free gift certificate for minimum reload of RM 100.

LTE is coming to Buzzme customers very soon.

Apart from the new image, Buzzme has also revealed that it is currently working to deliver LTE network to its subscribers in Q4 2016. According to the Loke Yee Siong, the CEO of Buzzme, the performance of Buzzme’s LTE network will be no different from what U Mobile has provided to its own customers despite Buzzme technically being a secondary user of U Mobile’s infrastructure.
