HERE Maps was once one of the best things on Windows Phone, although it unfortunately suffered during the Microsoft-Nokia split. Now owned by a consortium of German car makers, the service has undergone a dramatic change and is now known known as HERE WeGo.
At the core, HERE WeGo is still the same mapping service that was available on Nokia devices. The difference now is that it has moved over to Android and iOS instead of remaining on the Windows mobile platform.

HERE says that it was altered its interface to be simplified, allowing users to more quickly discover their destination. It also integrates public transportation and ride-sharing service information in to the app; although this appears to be mainly limited to select parts of Europe. No telling if the team will be willing to expand it to the rest of the world.
HERE WeGo is currently available on both Android and iOS, and it doesn’t look like the service is interested in going back to Windows. It’s good to see HERE make a comeback, even if it now has to directly compete with both Google Maps and Waze.
