Shuttle might be known for its barebone mini PC but these days the company also offered a variety of products including another type of mini PC that it called XPC nano. Here at Computex 2016, the company has showcased the second generation XPC nano which will be made available in the market later this year.
While the first generation XPC nano is equipped with a docking port that allows users to connect extension module for additional capabilities, the feature is somehow not included in the upcoming second generation XPC nano. Officially referred to as the NC02U series, customers have the option to obtain it with either Intel Core i7-6500U, Core i5-6200U, Core i3-6100U, or Celeron 3855U CPU.
With the ability to support up to 32GB of DDR3L 1600MHz memory as well as 4K playback, the NC02U comes with quite a number of I/O port including a USB 3.0 Type-A, USB 3.0 Type-C, USB 2.0, Ethernet, HDMI, and DisplayPort. It also comes standard with M.2-based 802.11 b/g/n wireless LAN.
However, do note that users need to purchase operating system, RAM and solid state drive separately as they are not included with XPC nano systems. While no price has been mentioned, the new XPC nano NC02U is scheduled for release starting August 2016.
