Astro’s eSports & Gaming Channel, eGG Network, To Go Live On 7th June

Astro’s very own eSports and gaming entertainment channel, eGG Network, will be the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, and it is scheduled to go live on the 7th of June 2016. Gamers and fans alike will be happy to know that eGG will be running 24/7, and it will be offered to all Astro customers (Channel 808) for free, including Astro on the Go (AOTG).

Lee Choong Khay, Head of Sports Business in Astro said:

eGG network is poised to play a pivotal role in bringing together a connected ASEAN community of eSports fans through the showcase of major global LIVE eSports tournaments and gaming entertainment in HD.

One of the showpiece events that will be broadcasted on the eGG Network will be the upcoming Manila Major Dota 2 Championships. Programming starts 10am daily from the 7th to 12th of June 2016.

To host the programs and content offered on eGG Network, the channel will be featuring six personalities – Faisal Ariffin, Natasha Hidayah, Faraz Shababi, Pinda Rika, Abdul Mu’adz, as well as Danelie Purdue. They will be the faces of eGG Network, connecting with gamers all around the world, and giving you first-hand knowledge on the games and tournaments being broadcasted.

To get a sneak preview of what eGG Network is offering, the team will have a booth at the upcoming Midvalley Exhibition Centre from 27 to 29 May. They’ve prepared meet and greets, cosplayers, and even micro tournaments for you to win prizes worth up to RM12,000.

eGG Network will not only be available for free on Astro and AOTG, but it will also be broadcasted in Indonesia on the Tribe OTT platform. To learn more about eGG Network, you can check out its official webpage when it hatches here.
