Pebble Introduces Pebble Time Round, its First Round Smartwatch

For those of you who prefer rounded smartwatches for a more traditional look, Pebble has a new gadget for you, the Pebble Time Round. As the name suggests, it is part of the Pebble Time series that features a new Timeline interface and coloured e-ink display, but instead of the rectangular design, it now has a rounded face.

But what makes the Pebble Time Round stand out compared to all the rounded Android Wear smartwatches in the market? Pebble says that it is the world’s lightest and thinnest smartwatch”, and sure enough, from the side, you can see just how slim it is.

Pebble Time Round Side

Apart from a new design, everything else remains similar to the Pebble Time like the always-on, always-readable screen, the ability to receive notifications (messages, calendar events, and even incoming calls) right on the watch. The button layouts are still similar with the previous Pebble smartwatches, with three buttons on one side (up, select and down), and one on the adjacent side (back button).

Sadly though, instead of giving up to 10 days of battery life found on the Pebble Time Steel, the Pebble Time Round has only two days of battery life. Don’t be too disappointed though, Pebble says that the battery can be charged up pretty quick, allowing you to get a full day of power by just charging for 15 minutes.

Pebble Time Round Five Different Styles

Available in 5 different styles, the Pebble Time Round is now available for order for US$249.99 (that’s about RM1,096), and will ship in 6 to 8 weeks (Pebble will only charge your card when it ships). At the time of writing, Pebble is only offering the Time Round with leather bands, metal bands will be available soon.
