Thanks to the advancement in technologies, electronic appliances are getting more connected than ever. It used to be mainly just entertainment products such as TV but now even washing machines, refrigerator, and air conditioning can be connected with smartphones as well. Soon, you can add toothbrush to the list as well.
Well, such toothbrush is coming to the market later this year from the renowned dental care brand Oral-B. Called the Oral-B SmartSeries Power Toothbrush, it will apparently comes with Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity that will enable it to be connected to a smartphone.
The toothbrush will work together with an app insider the smartphone which will act as a guide to tooth brushing. This include brushing progress in real-time, indicates user to move to different part of the mouth, and warns users if the brushing gets too hard. Not enough with that, users are also able to further personalized their brushing routine, keep track of your brushing habit, and check this out – receive achievement badges through your brushing.
Even though this might sounds a little bit weird but the Oral-B SmartSeries Power Toothbrush will be showcased at Mobile World Congress 2014 next week before heading to the stores in June 2014. The accompanying smartphone app will be released in May for iOS while the Android version will be out sometime in August.
However, it does carry a hefty price tag: GBP 199 (RM 1,094) in UK and EUR 219 (RM 989) for the rest of European region. Nevertheless, consider myself amazed.
