Established in 2001, The Software Boutique (TSB) started its journey at a time where there were not much games stores that actually focused on genuine software. While things have changed for the better now as more users have since resorted into purchasing legit games for their devices but somehow, the situations didn’t favour TSB.
Just moments ago, TSB has announced through its Facebook page and official website that the shop is now closed for good after being in the business for more than a decade. The company has also issued an open invitation to any parties out there that are interested in taking over The Software Boutique brand from them.
Furthermore, their online database will be taken offline on 14 January 2014. At the time being, it is not known if TSB’s other affiliate company – Gamers Dotcom – who are responsible for the distribution of Electronic Arts titles for Malaysia (or used to, at least) will be closing down as well.
All in all, it is indeed sad to see TSB go away although gamers are not short of options these days. Nevertheless, our sincere gratitude to TSB for their service to Malaysian gamers for the past 12 years and their presence will definitely be missed.
