Apple sure caught us all by surprise when it suddenly decided to launch the fourth generation iPad and the iPad mini here in Malaysia. Apple resellers such as Machines all received overwhelming response for both devices, so much so that the latest update we saw in Machines’ Facebook page is that all models of the iPad mini are all sold out in all Machines outlet.
You can purchase the device at Apple’s online store and even receive free engraving, but shipping now takes up to 2 whole weeks. But worry not, it looks like both Celcom and Maxis are bringing in the iPad mini and on top of that, Maxis also listed the fourth generation iPad as “Coming Soon”. No further details have been revealed, but just so you know, Maxis currently have a bundle offer for the third generation iPad with mobile internet plans ranging from 2GB to 12GB. Celcom on the other hand is currently offering the third generation iPad with two different broadband plans – Celcom Broadband iPad Basic and Celcom Broadband iPad Advance that gives you 4.5GB and 10GB of data at RM70/month and RM100/month respectively. iPad Basic gives you speed of up to 5Mbps while iPad Advance comes with an internet speed of up to 7.2Mbps, so we shall be expecting the telco to use back the same packages.
