Sony Malaysia official website sprung more than one surprise today: a product listing for an unannounced Xperia smartphone has appeared. The Sony Xperia C, announced for the Chinese market back in July, looks like it will make its way to Malaysia very soon.
The Xperia C is a mid-range dual-SIM smartphone, featuring a 5-inch 540 x 960 display and powered by a MediaTek 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. There’s also 4GB of storage, with the option to increase it by 32GB via microSD cards. Round the back, the Xperia C packs an impressive 8MP Exmor RS for Mobile camera sensor and a 0.3MP front-facing camera. The Android 4.2-running device also packs a 2390mAh battery.
While Sony Malaysia hasn’t yet published any news regarding the local pricing, local e-tailer Storekini has listed the smartphone at a retail price of RM999 (it is currently being sold at RM50 off the retail price), and will be available in white, black and purple.
