Still remember Tamagotchi? Yup, the tiny electronic pet that was popular back 1990s is actually still around. In fact, it is now available as an Android app – just in time for its 16th birthday.
While there are tons of virtual pet Android apps out there, this is the first time that Bandai has actually come out with an official app for its world famous virtual pet game. The Tamagotchi L.i.f.e (short for “Love is fun everywhere”) Android app operates the same way as the original Tamagotchi in which users are given the task of taking care a virtual pet by feeding, disciplining and playing with. Obviously, neglecting those routines will eventually lead to the pet’s demise.
Available for free through Google Play, the app will be heading to Apple devices soon. That being said, it seems that the Tamagotchi is not available for Malaysian users for the time being. Hence, you might want to continue playing with your original Tamagotchi while you are able to download the app.
