OPPO has just announced two new mid-range phones for the Chinese market. They are called the A7 Pro and A7 Pro Max.
The brand plans to launch the two devices in its home market soon. However, it also appears that OPPO plans to bring them to the Malaysian market as well. The reason we say this is because we saw both phones listed on SIRIM’s database, which suggests that a local launch may happen soon. Per the listing, the A7 Pro got its approval on 12 August, while the Pro Max received its certification on the 24th of the same month.
A7 Pro
With that out of the way, let’s discuss the phone’s specs. Starting with the A7 Pro, it features a 6.57-inch OLED screen with a 2,372 x 1,080 pixel resolution. The screen has a peak brightness of 1,400 nits, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 10-bit colours.
Under the hood, it has MediaTek’s Dimensity 6360 Max SoC, which supposedly has a peak clock speed of 2.4GHz. OPPO pairs this with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
Powering the device is an 8,000mAh battery that supports 45W charging. Meanwhile, the OPPO A7 Pro keeps its cool thanks to a 4,300mm² vapour chamber.
On the software side of things, it runs on OPPO’s ColorOS 16, which is based on Android 16. For connectivity, the phone comes with Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C, GPS, and NFC. Other details include IP69K waterproofing and a fingerprint sensor integrated into the display.
As for imaging, while it may seem like the phone has two rear cameras, the phone only has one, which is a 50MP f/1.9 main camera alongside an LED flash. The front, meanwhile, is home to an 8MP snapper.
A7 Pro Max
Next we have the Pro Max variant. This device comes with a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel. It comes with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,800 nits of peak brightness, and 10-bit colours.
Inside, it comes with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Powering the device is a massive 10,000mAh battery that supports 80W SuperVOOC wired charging and 27W reverse wired. Unlike its non-Max counterpart, this device doesn’t seem to have any vapour chambers to speak of.
Again, the device comes with OPPO’s ColorOS 16. For connectivity, it has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, USB Type-C, GPS, and NFC. Other details include IP68/IP69K dust and water resistance and an under-display fingerprint sensor.
For photography, it comes with a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP “monochrome” lens. Meanwhile, the front is home to another 50MP shooter.
Pricing And Availability
According to OPPO’s Chinese website, the A7 Pro Max is available for purchase now and comes in white, black, and orange colourways. It has four configurations: 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB. They are priced at CNY2,199, CNY2,599, CNY2,699, CNY2,999, respectively.
On the other hand, the A7 Pro only has two configurations, which are 6GB + 256GB and 8GB + 256GB. They are priced at CNY2,199 and CNY2,499, respectively. The model is available in white, pink, and brown colourways.
Thanks to its SIRIM listing, there is a very high chance that these phones will make their way to the Malaysian market shortly. That said, keep in mind that everything we’ve discussed so far is based on the series’ Chinese launch, and, as a result, some details might be different once they arrive in our country.
