realme has just announced that the Buds Clip, the brand’s first open-ear earbuds, is arriving in Malaysia on 24 November, coinciding with the GT 8 Pro. And right off the bat, the design is very reminiscent of Huawei’s own FreeClip earbuds.
Marketed towards “young, active users”, the Buds Clip promises to eliminate the pressure and stuffiness commonly found in conventional in-ear monitors. According to the official press release, the buds weigh only 5.3g and use a C-shaped bridge made from a flexible memory titanium alloy, allowing them to stay in place all day.

Further, the Buds Clip will also feature what realme calls the “NextBass Algorithm”. The company claims that this in-house system addresses the challenges of open-ear earbuds by dynamically adjusting their low- and high-frequency output. Unfortunately, apart from that, we don’t know much else about the audio equipment.
Though it’s low-hanging fruit, it’s safe to say (until proven otherwise) that these buds borrowed a lot of things from the FreeClip earbuds. We still have to see how exactly the Buds Clip separates itself from the competition. However, realme did promise that it will share more information about the device through its official website and Facebook page.
