Among all Meta-owned messaging apps, WhatsApp appears to be the only one that still lacks multi-account support, at least for iOS. However, it seems that the messaging platform is working to address that issue soon enough.
According to WABetaInfo, this feature will allow users to quickly move between different WhatsApp accounts right from the settings page without exiting or logging out of the app. Much like its sibling apps, WhatsApp will retain its own chat history, notification settings, and preferences.

Meta is rolling out the feature to only a handful of beta users. These users will now see an “Account List” section in the settings menu or spot a new icon beside the QR code icon.
From there, users can create an entirely new account without needing a second device or WhatsApp Business. As per the report, users can currently have “up to two accounts on the same installation of WhatsApp”. It’s also worth noting that the companion account works with this feature as well.
If you were to create a second account, you would receive a new notification system. Moving forward, notifications will display both the sender’s name and the receiving account’s name
WhatsApp has also added a few shortcuts to access the feature. Users can opt for the traditional “Account List” section from the settings menu or tap and hold the Settings tab to instantly display the list of accounts. Users can also double-tap the Settings tab to automatically switch to the next account.

The report says the feature will expand to more users once stability and performance are optimised. However, some stable-release users may already have the new feature early as part of experimental testing. iOS users should keep their apps updated to access the feature ahead of others.
