The HONOR 500 series is set to debut in its home market as the successor to the HONOR 400 lineup. As the brand steadily drops teasers for the phones, leaksters are filling in some of the details as well. Recently, tipster Digital Chat Station has shared some of the specifications of the Pro variant.
In a Weibo post, the leakster claimed that the HONOR 500 Pro will feature a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with a 2,736 x 1,264 pixel resolution, and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Aside from that, the device will reportedly come with a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
As for internals, HONOR will apparently equip the phone with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. In addition to this, the device is said to come with a custom-built C1 modem. Furthermore, an E2 energy management chip will also be on board. Other supposed specifications include a 8,000mAh silicon battery, as well as a 200MP main camera.
In terms of memory, the handset will offer up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. It is worth noting that the brand has already opened pre-orders for the 500 lineup in China. The store listings not only confirm the storage configurations, but also the designs.
Based on these listings, it’s pretty easy to see what has inspired the appearance of these phones. Both models sport a horizontal camera bar, with the Pro variant featuring an extra sensor. Beyond that, the phones look identical, even down to the colour options.
At the time of writing, the brand has yet to mention a release date for these devices. However, the China launch is likely happening pretty soon.
