LRT commuters be advised. Rapid KL has announced that it will be upgrading the signalling system of the Kelana Jaya LRT Line on selected dates. As a result, the line will be experiencing some downtime.
As per the official Rapid KL Facebook post, the downtime will only take place on 15 and 16 November from 6am to 9pm. The line will also be experiencing some downtime on 29 and 30 November, this time only from 6am to 12pm. Notably, this disruption will only take place on the weekend so it won’t affect those who need the train for work.
This disruption will impact 17 stations in total. These stations include Lembah Subang, Kelana Jaya, Taman Bahagia, Taman Paramount, Asia Jaya, Taman Jaya, Universiti, Kerinchi, Abdullah Hukum, Bangsar, KL Sentral, Pasar Seni, Masjid Jamek, Dang Wangi, Kampung Baru, KLCC and Ampang Park. However, train services between Putra Heights and Ara Damansara, and between Damai and Gombak stations, will remain unaffected.
For commuters travelling on those dates, Rapid KL will run shuttle buses every 10 to 15 minutes, while a van service will operate between Kampung Baru and KLCC instead. Of course, the time intervals are subject to traffic conditions on the date. Additionally, be sure to refer to the station officer for the bus boarding and drop-off locations.
