Proton has announced that bookings are now open for the new Proton Saga. The national automaker made the announcement through its official social media platforms, also revealing the sedan’s tentative price range of RM40,000 to RM50,000. Along with these announcements, the automaker has introduced an early booking package, which includes a free special edition Touch ‘n Go card and one year of complimentary service covering both labour and parts.
To recap, the sedan is also offered in three variants: Standard, Executive and Premium. At the front, it sports LED projector headlamps with L-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs) It also comes with full-width concave grille adorned with a Sulaman Songket-inspired pattern.
At the rear, full-width LED taillights connected by an illuminated Proton script light bar, along with a sculpted bumper featuring a diffuser-style design and subtle chrome accents Completing the refreshed look are redesigned alloy wheels, chrome door handles, and a sleek, sculpted roof with a compact antenna.
Inside, the new Proton Saga features a modern cabin highlighted by a large dual-screen display that combines the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system, both supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A sporty flat-bottom steering wheel adds a dynamic touch, while the centre console maintains a clean and practical layout with a compact gear selector and a traditional manual handbrake.
Under the hood, the Saga MC3 is powered by a 1.5-litre Intelligent Green Technology (i-GT) four-cylinder engine, paired with a CVT transmission. Although official performance figures have yet to be announced, the model promises improved refinement and efficiency.
Built on a significantly upgraded version of its predecessor’s platform, now called the Advanced Modular Architecture (AMA), the new Saga also introduces Proton’s Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite for the first time, available on the range-topping Premium variant.
