Sony has announced a new addition to its hardware lineup: a 27-inch gaming monitor designed for the PlayStation 5, as well as general use. Developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment, the monitor is aimed at players who prefer a desktop experience, while featuring certain exclusive features unique to the PS5 ecosystem.
The PlayStation 27-inch Gaming Monitor features a Quad High Definition (QHD) IPS display with a resolution of up to 2560 x 1440. It supports High Dynamic Range (HDR) with Auto HDR Tone Mapping that automatically adjusts settings during setup on both PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles. The monitor also supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and can reach up to 120Hz refresh rates on PS5 systems, or up to 240Hz on compatible PC and Mac devices.

A distinctive feature of the monitor is its built-in DualSense Charging Hook, allowing players to conveniently charge their DualSense or DualSense Edge wireless controllers directly from the display. The monitor also includes multiple connectivity and mounting options, supporting both HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 inputs, two USB Type-A ports, and one USB Type-C port that can accommodate PlayStation Link adapters. Additional features include built-in stereo speakers, a 3.5mm audio output, and compatibility with select VESA mounting systems for more flexible setups.
PlayStation’s 27-inch Gaming Monitor is set to launch in 2026 in the US and Japan, with further details on pricing and availability to be announced in the coming months. Unfortunately, it is unclear whether the new monitor will be sold in Malaysia at this time.
