Grab has been initiating a lot of interesting initiatives as of late, some of which are stranger than others (looking at you, ChatGPT collaboration). Now, the Singaporean-based company officially kick off a simpler initiative by comparison: rebranding its GrabRewards programme to GrabCoins.
Despite this change, it’s worth noting that the system will largely stay the same. For the uninitiated, the programme allows users to accumulate points by simply using the app’s services, like ride hailing or food delivery. Users can then use their accumulated points to redeem vouchers, offset the cost of purchases, and get discounts on other Grab services.
It’s worth noting that the user’s existing GrabRewards Points will be automatically converted to GrabCoins. As shown in the images, the total number of points will remain unchanged.
Users will receive a notification when they open the Grab app informing them of the change. Furthermore, the notification also stated that the company will share more information about GrabCoins on 17 November.

Naturally, we don’t really know what this GrabCoin announcement entails, and the best we can do is wait for more information. However, if we are to speculate, there’s a possibility that the company plans to add more ways to earn points so that users may better utilise the system. However, again, this is just speculation.
