The Volvo ES90 has been spotted in Malaysia roads, confirming its local debut early next year. It was sighted near Volvo Car Malaysia’s (VCM) headquarters in Section 13, Petaling Jaya.

Although the vehicle was still covered in delivery wraps, its three-box silhouette and the outline of the distinctive C-shaped taillights unveiled its identity.  The sighting came to light when a paultan.org reader, Ian Lim, shared images of the car with the automotive media outlet.

As reported earlier, the Volvo ES90 features a sleek roofline and the brand’s signature Thor’s Hammer headlights. The front grille has been replaced by a smooth, body-coloured panel, while the bumper integrates vertical LED strips for day-time running lights. At the rear, the ES90 showcases distinctive C-shaped LED taillights, and the car is offered in four alloy wheel designs, ranging from 20 to 22 inches.

Inside, the ES90 adopts a layout similar to the EX90, featuring a 9-inch digital cluster, head-up display, and a 14.5-inch vertical touchscreen with Google built-in for navigation, voice control, and apps. Comfort highlights include six ambient lighting themes, a panoramic roof with electrochromic dimming, and a four-zone climate system with air purification. The top-tier 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio setup with Abbey Road Studio mode rounds off the premium experience.

The Volvo ES90 offers a choice of powertrains to suit different driving needs. The entry-level single-motor rear-wheel-drive version delivers 245 kW and 480 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in 6.7 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h. Powered by a 92 kWh battery, it provides a WLTP range of up to 650 km.

For those seeking more performance, the Twin Motor all-wheel-drive variants combine front and rear motors for outputs of up to 500 kW and 860 Nm. The top-spec Performance model accelerates from 0–100 km/h in just 4 seconds, while both AWD versions use a larger 106 kWh battery capable of up to 700 km of range.

The EV sedan supports fast charging since it features the 800V architecture, adding up to 300km of range in 10 minutes. It is also able to charge 10% to 80% in 20 minutes while it takes 8 to 10 hours for a full charge with 11kW Ac charger.

As of now, details regarding the specifications of the ES90 destined for Malaysia have not been disclosed. However, the model is confirmed to be locally assembled (CKD) alongside the EX30 and EX90.
