Toyota Motor Thailand has released a teaser for the 2026 Toyota Hilux ahead of its official unveiling on 10 November 2025. Shared on the company’s social media platforms, the teaser reveals several design cues of the upcoming pick-up truck.

From the teaser, it can be seen that the Hilux features slimmer headlights, revised tail-lights, and a new alloy wheel design. According to Drive, this model is a facelift version based on the current-generation Hilux that was launched in Australia nearly a decade ago.

Recent government approval documents suggest that the Hilux could drop its 2.7-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. Instead, the 2.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine may become the standard powertrain across the 2026 Hilux range.

While traditionally petrol and diesel powered, there’s a possibility that an all-electric model may also be available. This is allegedly revealed via a leaked presentation slide from Toyota during the 2025 Japan Mobility Show, which was shared by Careta on Instagram. Shown are silhouettes of two pickup trucks which appears similar to that of the Hilux, with one designated to be a BEV (battery electric vehicle). Whether or not the vehicle in question is the upcoming Hilux remains to be seen.

Reports also suggest that the electric version could be an evolution of the Hilux Revo concept, which was showcased at Toyota Beyond Zero event in Malaysia last year. According to Toyota, the EV Hilux will be a rear-wheel-drive powered by a lithium-ion battery, and is expected to deliver a driving range of approximately 200 km.
