Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi has officially launched its latest “flagship killer” smartphone, the Redmi K90 Pro Max. Available first in China, the device is equipped with Qualcomm’s top-end mobile chipset, along with a triple 50MP rear camera setup, and a massive battery capacity. And as you may recall from our previous report, it is the first smartphone to feature Bose-powered speakers and woofer system.
To start things off, the Redmi K90 Pro Max features a 6.9-inch OLED display with 2,608 x 1,200px resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 3,500 nits peak brightness, and Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass protection. Here you’ll find a 32MP selfie camera within a punch-hole cutout on top, and a 3D ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner at the bottom. It is rated at IP68 in terms of dust and water protection.

Perhaps the most exciting aspect of the phone is the Bose sound system. This consists of a dual speaker setup at the top and bottom of the device, followed by an independent woofer on the back which is situated on the same bump as the triple camera setup. According to Xiaomi, the system offers 2.1 channel sound, with claims of class-leading bass output and rich, detailed sound.

As for its internals, the K90 Pro Max features a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, along with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. Powering it is a massive 7,560mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging, as well as 22.5W reverse wireless charging. The phone also comes with Android 16-based HyperOS 3 out of the box.
Imaging-wise, accompanying the 50MP primary is a 50MP periscope telephoto with 115mm equivalent focal range and 5x optical zoom. Meanwhile, the third 50MP powers the phone’s ultra-wide shooter, offering 18mm equivalent focal range and a 102-degree field of view.

The Redmi K90 Pro Max starts from CNY3,999 (~RM2,370) and is available in black, white and blue colour options. There’s also the 16GB + 1TB Champion Edition that’s made in collaboration with Lamborghini Automobiles Racing Team, which retails at CNY5,499 (~RM3,258). Xiaomi has yet to announce international availability for the new Redmi flagship killer.
