Nubia has officially unveiled its newest flagship smartphone in China. As the successor to the Z70 Ultra launched last year, the Z80 Ultra comes with a tweaked camera design and a couple of upgrades.
Starting with the display, the Z80 Ultra sports a 6.85-inch BOE X10 AMOLED panel with a 1,216 x 2,688 pixel resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. As with the previous generation, Nubia has hidden the front camera under the display for a seamless viewing experience. Furthermore, the device comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
For internals, the Z80 Ultra packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. Keeping the lights on is a 7,200mAh battery with support for 90W wired and 80W wireless charging. Beyond that, the phone features a liquid metal cooling and a 3D Ice Steel VC heat sink for heat dissipation.
On the imaging end, the Z80 Ultra comes with a triple camera setup comprising a 50MP main, a 50MP ultra-wide, and a 64MP periscope telephoto. The 35mm equivalent main shooter uses a custom 1/1.3-inch Omnivision 990 sensor. Meanwhile, the 18mm equivalent ultra-wide lens uses a 1/1.55-inch sensor. As for the telephoto unit, it uses a 1/2-inch sensor with 3x optical zoom. Finally, the under-display front snapper is a 16MP unit.

Nubia is also releasing an optional photography kit alongside the phone. The kit gives the phone a vintage camera vibe and includes a T-mount for external lenses, as well as a cold shoe mount for other accessories.
The Nubia Z90 Ultra comes in Light White and Phantom Black colourways. Pricing starts at CNY4,999 (~RM2,966) for the 12GB+512GB configuration. Meanwhile, the 16GB+512GB and 16GB+1TB models retail for CNY5,299 (~RM3,144) and CNY5,699 (~RM3,382) respectively.

Aside from that, the company is also offering a Vincent van Gogh-inspired Starry Sky Collector’s Edition. This model costs CNY5,999 (~RM3,560) and comes with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. As for the photography kit, it comes with a CNY669 (~RM397) price tag.
Nubia has already confirmed that it will be releasing the Z80 Ultra internationally on 6 November 2025. However, it is uncertain whether Malaysia is included in the launch.
