Nubia Malaysia has confirmed that it will be launching its new smartphone, the Nubia Air, locally on 17 October. The ZTE-owned brand made the announcement on the official Facebook page earlier today.
At the time of writing, neither the local price nor its full specifications have been revealed to the Malaysian market yet. However, a quick gander at the device’s international launch gives us an idea of what to expect when the device officially lands in the country.

As per the international website, the Nubia Air is equipped with a 6.78-inch 1224 x 2720 AMOLED display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Additionally, it also has a water and dust resistance of IP69K, IP69, and IP68. The company claims that the device measures in at 5.9mm (this is excluding the camera bump) and weighs in at 172g.
According to Amanz, the Nubia Air is said to have a Unisoc T8300 SoC with an 8GB + 256GB configuration. In terms of the battery, the device is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W charging speeds.
On the imaging end, the device features a triple 50MP AI camera arrangement. Though the website does not share any specific details, it did boast that it is capable of “Dynamic Image”, “AI Sport Snapshot”, and “Video Ant-shake”. On the flip side, it features a 20MP camera through a hole-punch cutout.
The Nubia Air will be available in two different colours: Titanium Black and Titanium Desert. These specifications are based on Nubia’s international website and may be subject to change upon its official Malaysia launch on 17 October. Price starts at US$279 (~RM1,180) based on its global launch back in September.
