An eReader is about as straightforward as a device can get, but if you’re looking to simplify your reading experience even further, Rakuten Kobo has a new accessory that does exactly that. Designed for avid readers, the Kobo Remote is a wireless page turner meant to help users turn the page with the push of a button.

The device pairs with the brand’s eReaders via Bluetooth. With a wireless range of up to 65 feet, it allows for continuous reading without needing to touch the screen. It uses a single replaceable AAA battery, which Kobo claims will offer months of daily reading, although the company notes that this also depends on the user’s habits. Aside from that, the lightweight accessory features an ergonomic design meant to minimise hand strain.

According to Kobo, the Kobo Remote offers “unparalleled convenience”, with intuitive controls that let the user remain immersed in their reading rhythm. Rakuten Kobo CEO Michael Tamblyn explained that the device serves as “an invitation to lounge deeper, multitask smarter and simply enjoy reading without limits” regardless of environment.

The Kobo Remote comes in two colours, which are Black and White. As mentioned earlier, it is compatible with the brand’s Bluetooth-enabled eReaders. This includes the Kobo Libra Colour, the Kobo Clara Colour, and the Kobo Elipsa 2E. Priced at RM155, the wireless page turner will be available for purchase in stores and online starting 4 November 2025.
